Three people charged after police officer injured following 'Aberdeen car chase'

Three people have been charged after a police officer was injured following an alleged car chase in Aberdeen .

Policed say a 21-year-old woman and two men, aged 22 and 23, were arrested after a vehicle, a black Ford Fiesta, failed to stop for police.

They were apprehended on Fintray Road in the Blackburn area of the city just before 4am on Sunday.

The officer was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary following the incident but his injuries are not thought to be serious.

The trio have now been charged following the incident and will appear in court on Tuesday.

A police statement said: "Police Scotland can confirm that two men, aged 22 and 23, and a 21-year-old woman have been charged after a vehicle failed to stop for officers in Aberdeen on Sunday.

"The 21-year-old woman and 22-year-old man have also been charged in connection with alleged drug offences.

"The incident, which involved a black Ford Fiesta, concluded in the Fintray Road area of Blackburn shortly before 4am.

"The three individuals are expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Tuesday September 24."
