The January transfer window is within touching distance, presenting Premier League clubs with the opportunity to address areas of the pitch in need of attention.
In the case of Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp, a case could be made for recruiting a new midfielder and forward as the Reds aim to continue evolving as a side.
How much the club are prepared to spend in the window remains to be seen, though FSG could take advantage of contract situations affecting a number of top players in Europe.

A whole host of names will see their deals at their respective clubs expire at the end of the season, enabling clubs to negotiate a pre-contract agreement in the upcoming transfer window ahead of a summer switch.
With that in mind, the ECHO have taken a look at three players the Reds could target.
Corentin Tolisso
Liverpool lost Gini Wijnaldum on a free transfer to PSG in the summer and could strike a bargain deal of their own in the form of Bayern Munich midfielder Corentin Tolisso.
The 27-year-old established himself in Ligue 1 at Lyon before moving to the Bundesliga back in 2017.
Tolisso has experienced great success at Bayern and would take little time to adjust to Liverpool's winning mentality.
Injuries have left the Reds exposed at times in this department so far this campaign, a cause for concern Klopp will wish to avoid as much as possible in the future.
Ousmane Dembele
Yet to agree a new contract at Barcelona, Ousmane Dembele's future remains up in the air.
Latest reports have suggested that the La Liga giants are willing to offer the Frenchman a pay-as-you-play deal, which may struggle to gain the interest of Dembele should Liverpool come calling.
Still only 24, the World Cup winner has plenty still to offer as a player and would certainly have a point to prove should he head for the exit doors at Camp Nou.
Dembele would provide further competition for the Reds' front three of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane, likely leading to a further rise in standards at the club.
Marcelo Brozovic
An influential member of Inter Milan's title-winning side of last season, the Croatian midfielder would represent a shrewd piece of transfer business for Liverpool.
Although talks remain ongoing over extending his stay at the San Siro, a latest report from Sport Mediaset has claimed that Liverpool are ‘ready to offer the Croatian a salary of €7-8m/(£6/£6.8m) per season - an increase on his current package in Serie A.
Brozovic has largely been a dependable figure since arriving at Inter in 2015, having featured in 30 plus league games in each of his previous four seasons at the club.
