Three new cases of coronavirus in Leeds as total number of confirmed infections nears 1,900

Three more people have tested positive for coronavirus in Leeds, bringing the city's total number of confirmed infections to 1,882.

Across Yorkshire, a further 43 people have tested positive for the disease in the last 24 hours.

The sharpest increase was recorded in Hull with eight new cases of coronavirus, followed by Kirklees and Sheffield with six newly infected people each.

Meanwhile, York has not recorded any new infections in the past 11 days.

Doncaster has actually recorded a decrease in cases which is most likely due to an amendment by the Department of Health and Social Care.

So far, 14,262 people in the region have tested positive for the virus since the outbreak began.

Across the UK, 296,857 people have so far tested positive and as of 5pm on June 14, of those who tested positive, across all settings, 41,736 have sadly died.

North Yorkshire - was 1,336 now 1,339

Rotherham - was 1,026 now 1,030

Sheffield -was 2,612 now 2,618

Wakefield - was 781 now 782

York - still 462
