Three more Zika cases in Kerala

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Three more Zika cases have been reported in the state on Thursday.

As many as 44 people have been tested positive in the state. Of this, only six are active cases.

The three new cases have been reported from the tests conducted at the virology lab of the medical college hospital in Thiruvananthapuram. All 44 cases have been reported from the state capital.

On Wednesday also three more people tested positive in Thiruvananthapuram. Majority of the cases are being reported from the Anayara cluster, where the district administration has launched a massive source reduction programme.

The local bodies in the district have been directed to perform an all-out effort to eradicate the mosquito population to curb the spread of the disease.
