Three more schools in Sunderland have partially closed this week due to coronavirus.
Dubmire Primary Academy, St Joseph’s Primary School in Washington and East Rainton Primary School have all partially closed for classes or year groups due to Covid-19.
According to Together for Children, which delivers children's services on behalf of Sunderland City Council, the three schools were added to the closure list on Wednesday (October 7).
Dubmire Primary Academy is partially closed to Reception and Year 6 and is scheduled to reopen for those students on October 15.
At St Joseph’s Primary School in Washington, the school is partially closed to Year 1 and Year 6 while East Rainton Primary School is closed to a Year 3/4 mixed class.
Students in those groups are scheduled to return to school on October 19 and 20.
The schools are the latest closures to be announced this week with 24 schools in Sunderland currently partially or fully closed.
A number of schools across the region have been affected by coronavirus after they reopened earlier this month.
In some cases, the closures only apply to certain year groups or class group, depending on where the reported coronavirus is found.
While some asked year groups or bubbles to isolate at home, others decided to close for a deep clean.
