Three more schools in Greater Glasgow area hit with Covid-19 outbreaks

Cases of coronavirus have been recorded at three more schools in the Greater Glasgow area.

NHS Test and Protect staff are working to contact those who have been in close contact with pupils and teachers at St Aloysius' College, Braidbar Primary School in East Renfrewshire and Johnstone High School in Renfrewshire.

Health board NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde said there was no evidence of transmission in the schools with new cases or with historical cases.

It comes a day after four schools/nurseries saw positive cases in the same health board area.

Some staff and pupils at Dalmarnock Primary,St Martha’s Primary, Govan High School and Mossvale Primary in Renfrewshire are self-isolating after a number of positive cases.

A spokeswoman for the health board said: "We are closely monitoring these situations.

"To respect and maintain patient confidentiality, no further details will be released.

"Apart from those who are identified as close contacts, all other staff and pupils can continue to attend as normal.

"The exception to this applies to East Renfrewshire, Glasgow City and West Dunbartonshire, where additional Covid-19 control measures are in place.

"In these local authority areas, any close contacts of someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 are being advised that they and all those in their household group, should self-isolate for 14 days."
