Three more people with coronavirus die in Greater Manchester

Three more people have died after contracting coronavirus in Greater Manchester.

The region's hospital death toll now stands at 2,120.

In the last 24 hours, two COVID-19 deaths were recorded at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.

Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust also reported another death.

The NHS publishes data each day relating to the number of deaths that have been recorded at each hospital trust in England in the last 24 hours.

These are deaths where the person had tested positive for the virus or where COVID-19 was mentioned on their death certificate.

NHS England's daily figures often sometimes include previously uncounted deaths that took place several days - or even weeks ago.

They do not include deaths in care homes or community settings.

The total number of coronavirus deaths at hospital trusts in Greater Manchester, as of Saturday, July 18 now stands at:

  • Bolton NHS Foundation Trust - 226

  • Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust - 9

  • Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust - 437

  • NHS Nightingale Hospital North West - 6

  • Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust - 552

  • Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust - 6

  • Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust - 179

  • Stockport NHS Foundation Trust - 222

  • Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust - 214

  • The Christie NHS Foundation Trust - 13

  • Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust - 253

A further 13 people, who tested positive for COVID-19 have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 29,173.

Patients were aged between 49 and 96 years old. NHS England said all patients had known underlying health conditions.
