Three more people have died in Greater Manchester's hospitals after testing positive for coronavirus.

The latest NHS figures bring the region's hospital death toll to 5,973.

All three of the latest fatalities were recorded by Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT).

The trust's figures include those for Wythenshawe Hospital, the Manchester Royal Infirmary, Saint Mary's and the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital.

The total number of coronavirus-related deaths at hospital trusts in Greater Manchester, as of Wednesday, June 30 are:

• Bolton NHS Foundation Trust - 670

• Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust - 9

• Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust - 1,205 (+3)

• NHS Nightingale Hospital North West - 6

• Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust - 1,611

• Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust - 8

• Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust - 507

• Stockport NHS Foundation Trust - 565

• Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust - 591

• The Christie NHS Foundation Trust - 28

• Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust - 773

Each day the NHS in England publishes the number of deaths recorded by each hospital trust in the last 24-hour period.

These are deaths where the person had tested positive for the virus or where Covid-19 was mentioned on their death certificate.

NHS England's daily figures sometimes include previously uncounted deaths that took place several days - or even weeks ago.

They do not include deaths in care homes or community settings.
