Three more lives lost overnight due to coronavirus

A further three people have died of the coronavirus in Scotland, the First Minister confirmed today at her daily press briefing.

As of 9am this morning, there were 15,156 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Scotland, up 55 from the previous day's figure.

There were also 1269 people in hospital with 420 of them suspected of having the virus-  and 849 of them confirmed as having contracted the virus.

As of March 5, the First Minister announced, 3572 people had recovered from COVID-19.

Sadly, though, a further three people have died in the wake of yesterday's figures, bringing the total number of deaths  in Scotland to 2273, although the First Minister said those figures should be treated with "caution," due to a weekend reporting lag.

Ms Sturgeon also announced that the Scottish Government would be in a position to announce  more relaxations to the current lockdown, which would have implications for outdoor pursuits.

More information will be unveiled this coming Thursday.
