Three more coronavirus deaths in North East hospitals confirmed with 151 deaths across the UK

Another three people have lost their lives in North East hospitals to coronavirus.

The deaths were recorded by NHS England and are among 83 patient deaths in hospitals around England.

Across the UK and in all settings, 151 further deaths were reported by the Department of Health and Social Care on Thursday, bringing the official death toll to 41,279.

The deaths were recorded between 5pm on Tuesday and 5pm on Wednesday.

Deaths in NHS hospital trusts

County Durham and Darlington - 1

South Tees - 2

Due to the way the deaths are recorded, they did not all happen in the same day.

The death at the County Durham and Darlington trust happened on June 10. The patients who passed away in the South Tees trust died on June 7 and June 9.

All of the patients had tested positive for Covid-19.

Once again, there were no deaths recorded in Newcastle, Gateshead or Sunderland and South Tyneside in the last 24 hours.

The 83 patients who died in England were aged between 26 and 102 and all had underlying health conditions.
