Three mobile services down as Scots left unable to make phone calls

Scots Three mobile customers have been left unable to make calls this morning amid issues with their service.

The network provider told punters that ‘technical issues’ are having an impact on making phone calls.

More than 1,200 people in the UK reported issues with the service at around 8.15am on Thursday morning, according to the website Down Detector.

Around 70% of those claimed to have problems with their mobile phone. There were also some reported issues with email and mobile internet services.

In a tweet sent out at 7.30am this morning, Three said that engineers are currently working to fix the technical difficulties as soon as possible.

The social media statement read: “We’re currently experiencing technical issues with some calls.

“Please accept our apologies if you’ve been affected by this, our engineers are working hard to fix it.”

In an additional statement issued to the Daily Record, a spokesperson for the firm said the difficulties are affecting about 30% of calls on the network.

Calls to emergency services remain unaffected.

It added: “Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.”

Three later confirmed that the issue had been resolved at around 1.15pm this afternoon.

A spokesperson said: "Three’s services have now been restored for affected customers. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the issue.”
