Three Mobile outage as Edinburgh customers left unable to use their phones

A major mobile network has gone down, leaving many across Edinburgh unable to make calls.

Three Mobile has suffered an outage, with over 900 reports as of 9am this morning - December 1. Around 80 per cent of complaints were related to customer struggling with their mobiles, with 14 per cent left without phone signal and a further 6 per cent unable to get an internet connection on their phones.

Edinburgh is one of the areas impacted, with customers taking to social media to share their frustrations.

One Tweet read: "Can't make or receive calls! What is going on? I use my phone for work purposes", with another writing "Is network down in Bolton apparently my number don't exist."

"Unable to make any phone calls today on your network- what's going on?", another added.

When asked about the outage, a Three Mobile spokesperson said: "It's been brought to our attention that a small number of our customers are having issues making calls this morning.

"We're working hard to get this resolved as quickly as possible. We understand this is far from ideal but please bear with us."

It is not the first time Three customers have faced issued, with more than 3,000 customer reporting problems earlier this year following a huge signal outage.

Can you get compensation following a signal outage?

Three Mobile customers will not automatically be paid compensation. However, that does not mean that there will be no compensation paid out.

Previously the network issued £20 discounts to customer bills following a nine-hour signal failure.
