Three Mobile down as users report mobile data network issues

Customers on Three Mobile have been left frustrated by a network outage.

Customers are unable to use their mobile phones to make calls or use 3G or 4G.

The outage appears to have been occurring in some locations since around 11.30pm on Wednesday, with thousands of people reporting it to website Down Detector.

Outages appear to be widespread across the UK, with people in Newcastle , Sunderland , Durham and other parts of the North East reporting issues.

Customers are complaining on social media that they do not have phone signal from the network and are unable to access the internet.

The company cited issues with "voice and data" services when responding to complaints on Twitter.

One user, Phillip Stockburn, wrote on website Down Detector: "Can't do anything. No calls 3g or 4g. Just about had enough of three."

Another, Kevin Adams, wrote: "Went off just before midnight last night - back on just after 7 this morning."
One person tweeted: "Has three network just gone down, was on the phone in mid connection & now I can't get 3G or 4G back up"

Another customer said: "Complete meltdown of @ThreeUK, no service anywhere, website not working, etc. Imagine being out at midnight and having to call 999 and not being able to do it. Incredible #threedown."

What to do if your mobile phone service provider goes down

Some users say their phone started working again after restarting it, but others said that did not work for them.

A spokesperson for the company has told WalesOnline: "We are currently looking into an issue with our network. We would like to apologise to our customers for any inconvenience."
