Three Met Police officers injured after chase ends in Corsa crashing into bus and police cars

Three Met Police officers have been injured after a car chase ended in a Vauxhall Corsa crashing into two patrol cars and a bus.

Scotland Yard said its officers initially tried to stop the car in Prince Charles Road, which runs though Blackheath, at 9.50pm on New Year's Day.

When the Corsa did not stop, police officers in two vehicles were authorised to begin a pursuit.

Around 10.15pm, about 25 minutes after the chase began, the car crashed into a bus and both police vehicles on the A207 at Shooters Hill, which runs between Greenwich and Welling.

Three officers were taken to hospital where they received treatment, said the Met Police. They have since been discharged.

The driver and two passengers in the other vehicle were not injured.

All three men were arrested at the scene, and they remained in custody on Tuesday.

There were road closures while emergency services dealt with the incident, which remains under investigation.
