Thugs with knives and hammer raid Wirral pub and threaten three people

Three people were threatened when thugs broke into a pub armed with a hammer and knife.

The armed men entered The Queens Arms pub in Liscard Village during a violent break in last night (July 13).

Three people were inside the Wallasey pub including a man and two women, one in their 20s and another in their 30s, when the terrifying incident took place.

The man was injured when one of the armed robbers stuck a knife through the letterbox while attempting to gain entry at the rear of the pub.

Once inside the armed men stole cash and alcohol before making their escape.

An investigation is now underway and anyone with information is urged to come forward and contact police.

They are carrying out CCTV, forensic and house-to-house enquiries in the area in the hopes of identifying the three men involved in the armed robbery.

Detective Inspector Darren Taylor said: "We would appeal to anyone who was in the Liscard Village area at around 11.30pm on Tuesday night or saw anyone or anything suspicious to contact us. They may have information which is vital to our investigation.

"I would also ask anyone who was in the area and mobile phone, dash cam or CCTV footage to contact us as they may be able to assist with our enquiries."

Anyone with information is asked to DM @MerPolCC or @CrimestoppersUK on 0800 555 111 quoting reference 21000489458.
