Three teenagers taken to hospital as 'armed police' swoop on south Manchester street after stabbing

Police have launched an investigation after a stabbing in Fallowfield.

Armed police swooped on Garswood Road at around 9.30pm on Thursday 8 October 2020.

Three teenagers, two aged 15, and one aged 16, have been taken to hospital following the incident.

Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Eye witnesses described seeing armed officers at the scene, before several ambulances attended.

Garswood Road was taped off by police for several hours as detectives and forensic teams were seen searching the area.

No arrests have been made but police say their enquiries are ongoing.

A spokesperson for GMP said: "At 9:30pm on Thursday 8 October 2020, police were called to reports of a stabbing on Garswood Road, Manchester.

"Officers attended.

"Three males were taken to hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

"An investigation is underway."
