Three men are due in court in connection with firearms offences after being arrested in Edinburgh .
Police Scotland launched an intelligence-led operation on Lochend Road on Friday evening involving armed officers and specialist resources.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "We can confirm that three men, aged 21, 22 and 24, have been arrested and charged in connection with firearms offences following an intelligence-led operation during the evening of Friday on Lochend Road in Edinburgh.
"They are all due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday.
"This was a contained incident with no threat to the wider public.
"Specialist resources, including armed officers, were deployed to the scene and we are grateful to the local community for their understanding while this operation was carried out."
