Three people have appeared in court accused of attempted murder following a stabbing.
The men were arrested after an incident in Felling, Gateshead, on Saturday afternoon.
Police were called to Falla Park Road just before 3pm and a 46-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
His condition has been described as critical but stable.
On Monday, three people appeared at South Tyneside Magistrates' Court charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon.
David Lamb, 50, of Hewitson Terrace, Gateshead, his brother Paul Lamb, 52, of Nursery Lane, Gateshead, and Paul's son James Lamb, 26, also of
Nursery Lane, were brought into the dock by security guards.
During the brief hearing, the defendants spoke only to confirm their names, ages and addresses.
No pleas were taken from them.
Prosecutor Paul Anderson outlined the allegations and said the case would have to be transferred to Newcastle Crown Court.
The defendants' solicitors did not apply for bail.
All three were then remanded in custody and will next appear before Newcastle Crown Court on February 10.
