Three men have been arrested and taken to hospital after they were hurt when their van collided with a car during an alleged police chase in Edinburgh.

The vehicle allegedly failed to stop for police at 1.30pm while driving on Holyrood Road.

The alleged chase was brought to an end on Arboretum Road and three men, two aged 20 and one aged 19, were arrested, reports the Sun.

They were also taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment.

The driver of the car, the only occupant, was checked over at the scene.

A Police Scotland spokesperson told reporters: “The pursuit concluded on Arboretum Road.

“The occupant of the car was checked over by the Scottish Ambulance Service at the scene.”

“The three occupants of the van were taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary Hospital.

“Three men, aged 20, 20 and 19 have been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing."
