Three men from London found by police camping in Mwnt

Police have fined three men from London who were found camping at a Welsh beauty spot 250 miles from their home.

Dyfed-Powys Police said they had set up camp at Mwnt on Friday.

Measures introduced on March 23, state that people are only allowed to leave home for essential journeys, to go to work, or to exercise.

Police forces across Wales have been setting up road blocks and stopping motorists to check on their journeys.

Despite official warnings and pleas from government and council leaders not to head to holiday spots in Wales, some people are still trying to flout the guidelines.

Dyfed-Powys Police said: "Three men from the London area were located having set up camp at Mwnt.

"They had travelled a considerable distance only to be fined and sent straight back home.

"A time of national crisis is NOT the time for a holiday."

The majority of people have followed the guidelines, but earlier this week a family were sent home and issued with fines by police after travelling nearly 100 miles from their home in Cardiff to a holiday let in west Wales.

Over the Easter weekend, several people were also stopped trying to get to Tenby.
