Three men found in back of lorry at Park West, Clondalkin as gardai launch illegal immigration probe

Three men found in the back of a truck that had just arrived in Ireland have been detained in west Dublin.

The trio are currently receiving medical attention in Ballyfermot Garda Station after gardai found them in the trailer of a lorry in neighbouring Park West this evening.

A spokesperson said this evening: "Gardaí in Clondalkin are investigating possible immigration offences that occurred this afternoon, Monday 23rd November, 2020 at approximately 4.20pm."

They said that the truck arrived at Park West, Clondalkin this afternoon after coming into the country via Rosslare Port earlier today.

When the driver opened up the truck, the three men were found in the trailer.

The three men are currently in Ballyfermot Garda station receiving medical attention while investigators carry out a technical examination of the trailer in which they were concealed.

The spokesperson added: "This is an ongoing investigation and no further information is available at this time."
