Three men force their way into elderly person's home in broad daylight

Three men forced their way into an elderly person's home and restrained them while they searched the property for goods.

The robbery happened in broad daylight at a house in Calder Walk in Bulwell, which is close to where 17-year-old Lyrico Steede cried for help after he was brutally stabbed in the street.

Residents said they were shocked to hear of the recent robbery which happened at 11.30am on Wednesday, April 3. Some felt the area was deteriorating.

A Nottinghamshire Police spokesman said: "We were called at 11.30am to reports of three men forcing their way into an address in Calder Walk in Bulwell.

"An elderly resident has been restrained and threatened. They have searched the house and escaped with two mobile phones. No arrests have been made."

Revealed: How detectives tracked down the killers of teenager Lyrico Steede

One resident, 28, who lives on Calder Walk but did not wish to be named, said: "We saw the police and they went door to door. Two of the officers had tasers.

"They told us 'there has been an incident on the walk and had we heard anything?'

"It is quite shocking. I have been here 10 years and I have never heard of anything like this happening. The area has gone downhill."

Another resident, aged 21, who also wanted to remain anonymous, said: "I have a one year old daughter. If that had happened to me I don't know what I would have done.

"I have lived in the area for two and a half years. It is an all right area to live in but then something like this happens."

Residents will 'never forget' the night Lyrico Steede was stabbed to death in quiet street

Residents said that the robbery happened to an elderly couple believed to be in their 70s.

The small street, made up of a row of detached homes, leads on to Stock Well, where Lyrico Steede was found after he sustained 18 slash and stab wounds to his body on February 13 last year.

He died five days later in hospital.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information about the robbery to call 101 quoting 312 3rd April.
