Three men crash Alfa Romeo in St Ann's then set it on fire

Police are appealing for witnesses after three men in an Alfa Romeo crashed into another vehicle in St Ann's before torching it and running away.

The men crashed the silver Alfa Romeo in Gordon Road at around 8pm on Friday, April 26, where they then attempted to get into the vehicle they collided with before the driver quickly drove off.

Shortly afterwards the three men set the car on fire and fled on foot.

The car they crashed into received extensive damage but the driver did not sustain any injuries, police say.

The incident happened at the junction with Bracton Drive, which is near Lou's minimarket and Our Lady and St Edward Chruch.

A Nottinghamshire Police spokesman said: "Anyone who witnessed the incident, or has CCTV or dash-cam footage of the incident, is urged to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 809 of 26 April 2019, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service sent one crew from London Road to extinguish the fire.

The fire was out by around 8.40pm.

A Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue spokeswoman added: "Crews from London Road, attended a car fire on Gordon Road, Thorneywood.

"The car was severely damaged by fire, fire crews used two breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, thermal image camera and small tools to extinguish. Notts Police also attended."

Three police cars were seen at the scene but the road remaining open to traffic and no injuries were reported.
