Three men charged with weapons offences after police chase crash in Leeds

Three men have been charged with weapons offences and burglary after a stolen car was crashed during a failed getaway in Leeds.

When West Yorkshire Police spotted the car in Chruwell on Wednesday, March 27 the driver refused to stop and tried to speed off.

However, the force said he 'crashed a short distance away' and three men inside the vehicle were searched and arrested. They were found to be carrying knives.

On Friday, March 29, the force announced that three men have been charged with various offences, including dangerous driving, possession of an offensive weapon and burglary.

They were charged in connection with burglaries committed across south Leeds and Calderdale area.

All three suspects are due to appear in court today.
