Three men have been charged with attempted murder after a stabbing in Gateshead.
A 46-year-old man remains in hospital fighting for life following the alleged attack in Felling on Saturday.
Shortly before 3pm, police received a report that a 46-year-old man had been found on Falla Park Road with injuries consistent with a stabbing.
He was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries where he currently remains in a critical condition.
Three men were arrested in connection with the incident shortly after and then a further two people were later arrested.
Now David Lamb, 50, of Hewitson Terrace in Gateshead, has been charged with attempt murder and possessing an offensive weapon.
Paul and James Lamb, 52 and 26, both of Nursery Lane in Gateshead, have also been charged with attempted murder and possessing an offensive weapon.
A 37-year-old woman, who was arrested in connection with the incident, has since been released with no further action and a 51-year-old man has been released under investigation.
All are due to appear at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court on Monday morning.
A spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: "Detectives have launched an investigation and officers are asking anyone with any information to get in touch.
