Three men have been charged in relation to a horrific fatal road crash in West Lothian last year.
Police announced today that three men, aged 35, 38 and 39, have all been charged in relation to the crash between three cars and two motorbikes on the A7066 in Bathgate in July last year.
The driver of one of the cars, 37-year-old Fiona Reid from Seafield, tragically died as a result of injuries sustained from the crash.
Following her death last year, her family released a statement through Police Scotland.
They said: “We are shocked and heartbroken at the loss of Fiona. She was a beautiful, caring woman who was loved by many.
“The family would like to extend their thanks to everyone who has contacted them with kind messages of support, it just shows how much Fiona was admired.
“We would also like to thank the emergency services and other motorists at the scene who assisted Fiona.”
A report has now been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
We previously told how police had launched a probe into the five-vehicle crash which caused three people to be rushed to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with serious injuries while others were treated at the scene by paramedics.
The road was closed for eight hours while extensive investigations were carried out.
