Three men attacked outside south Manchester shops

An investigation is underway after three men were attacked outside a row of shops in south Manchester.

Police were called to Barlow Moor Road in Chorlton on Saturday afternoon to reports of an assault.

It is understood the victims had been inside one of the shops - believed to be a takeaway - when a group of people started causing trouble outside.

Two of the men went out to confront them and were assaulted.

The third victim was then attacked by the same group.

GMP said a man in his 40s was taken to hospital by ambulance crews. His injuries were not life-threatening.

The two other men - both in their 30s - were treated at the scene, which was near the junction with Mauldeth Road West.

Police are yet to release descriptions of the group responsible.

A spokesman for GMP said: "Police were called at 3.15pm on Saturday to a report of assault outside a premises on Barlow Moor Road, Manchester.

"Three men were assaulted, one of whom required hospital treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
