Three men have been arrested and charged by the Houston Police Department following a disturbing home invasion incident that took place on Tuesday morning. The incident involved the invasion of a home, where a mother was tied up before one of the suspects allegedly shot an officer.
The homeowner, who is the woman's father, recounted that the situation began when his daughter noticed the men holding a DoorDash bag at their door. Upon opening the door to inform them of the mistaken delivery address, the situation quickly escalated into an armed robbery.
The suspects proceeded to zip-tie the daughter and ransack the house while she was accompanied by her young children. Fortunately, the children were unharmed during the ordeal.
Police were alerted to the situation by a concerned neighbor and promptly responded to the scene. Upon entering the home, officers encountered two suspects. During the apprehension of one suspect, the other suspect emerged from a back room and opened fire, injuring Officer S. Durfee in the leg.

Officer Durfee returned fire but did not hit anyone. The suspect who shot the officer fled the scene but was later apprehended by police roughly one block away from the residence. He was charged with aggravated assault against a public servant, aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon, and unlawful carrying of a weapon.
A third suspect, who was waiting in a vehicle, attempted to flee after the shooting but was later located and arrested by a SWAT team. Both this suspect and another individual involved in the incident were charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.
The swift actions of law enforcement led to the apprehension of all three suspects involved in this brazen home invasion and shooting incident. The community can find solace in knowing that those responsible are now facing the consequences of their actions.
