Three men arrested after 'Class A drugs' found in Ann Summers bag during house raid

Three men were arrested today when police found a large quantity of suspected Class A drugs after searching a car and a house.

Merseyside Police stopped a Ford Fiesta in the city centre at around 1.30pm today, June 8 as part of a pre-planned operation with Cumbria Police into County Lines drugs supply.

Three men were arrested – a 19 year-old man from Fairfield, a 21 year-old man from Toxteth and a 39 year-old man also from Toxteth – on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.

Following the arrests, a large quantity of suspected Class A drugs were recovered from a house in Toxteth and will be forensically examined.

Photographs of the raid on the Toxteth home show a plastic bag containing what appears to be powder placed on an Ann Summers bag.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "We have arrested three men on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs as part of a County Lines operation.

"A Ford Fiesta was stopped in Liverpool city centre at around 1.30pm this afternoon, Tuesday 8 th June, by officers from Merseyside Police’s roads policing unit and Matrix disruption as part of pre-planned operation with Cumbria Police.

"Three men were arrested – a 19 year-old man from Fairfield, a 21 year-old man from Toxteth and a 39 year-old man, also from Toxteth – on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.

"The arrests came as part of a joint operation under Project Medusa into County Lines in Barrow in Furness.

"All three men remain in custody where they will be questioned by detectives.

"Following the stop a large quantity of suspected Class A drugs was also recovered in a house in Toxteth and will be forensically examined."
