Three men have been arrested after chaos broke out in Glasgow last month.
It comes after hundreds descended on George Square to guard the statue of Metropolitan Police founder Robert Peel in an event organised by a group called the Loyalist Defence League, after a protest was organised to call for its removal.
Now police have arrested two men, aged 20 and 24, in connection with public disorder offences.
They also arrested and charged a 54-year-old man in connection with an assault.
They are due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court today.
Police dressed in riot gear were forced to separate counter- protesters 'protecting statues' from other activists as the groups clashed in Glasgow.
The original protest, organised by the Glasgow Youth Art Collective, was postponed due to what organisers say was a lack of access to the square and "police targeting activists".
Protesters were branded 'utterly shameful' as police worked to prevent the major clash in Glasgow on June 14th.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "We can confirm that three men have been charged following the disorder that was seen in George Square in Glasgow on Sunday, 14 June, 2020.
"Officers have been conducting a review of the events of Sunday, 14 June, and have charged two men, aged 20 and 24, in connection with public disorder offences.
"They are due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court today (Wednesday, 8 July, 2020).
"A 54-year-old man has been charged in connection with an assault and is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court at a later date."
