Three men have been arrested following a stabbing outside a pub in Prestwich.
Police were called to reports of men with knives fighting outside the Woodthorpe Hotel, on Bury Old Road, on Sunday afternoon.
Eyewitnesses said around eight men were involved in the brawl.
A 28-year-old man was left suffering with serious slash wounds.
Police said his injuries are not thought to be life threatening and he remains in hospital for treatment.
A second man was also assaulted and has been treated for minor injuries.

Officers have arrested three men, aged 18, 20 and 21, on suspicion of section 18 assaults.
The trio are being questioned in custody.
Chief Inspector Phil Spurgeon from GMP’s Bury borough said: “This was an extremely violent incident which left a man with nasty wounds.
“We are currently trawling through CCTV as part of this investigation and we will leave no stone unturned to find those involved.

“It is a shock that there weren’t any more serious injuries.
“We would like to hear from anyone with any information or who witnessed the fighting. This level of violence has no place on our streets, particularly on a nice Sunday afternoon with many innocent people around.”
