Three men arrested after approaching a home in Waterford armed with a baseball bat

Gardaí are investigating after three men reportedly approached a house in Waterford armed with baseball bats.

The alleged incident occurred at an estate in Williamstown on Wednesday evening at approximately 3.45pm.

Local reports state that a woman contacted the Gardai after the men arrived at her home and that nobody was injured.

In a statement, Gardai said the men "fled the scene a short time later and were intercepted by Gardaí a short distance away."

Three males, aged in their late teens and early 20s, have since been arrested in connection with the incident and detained in Tramore Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

They have been released and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
