Three men arrested after a teenager stabbed to death in Sheffield on New Year's Day

Three men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after an 18-year-old man was stabbed to death in Sheffield.

Police were called to St Aidens Road a short distance from the city centre at 4.20am on New Year's Day, following reports of a fight between a group of men.

At the scene officers discovered a young man who had suffered stab wounds.

The teenager was taken to hospital but sadly died a short time later.

His family have been informed and are currently being supported by specialist officers.

Three men, two aged 18 and one aged 20, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in custody for questioning.

A police presence remains in the area on Wednesday evening.

Officers said inquiries are under way and they have asked anyone with any information to call 101 quoting incident number 458 of January 2020.
