Three men arrested after 45-year-old man stabbed in face, stomach and arm on New Year's Day

Three men have been arrested after a man was stabbed in the face, stomach and arm on New Year's Day morning.

The 45-year-old victim was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries following the attack on Astbury Walk, in Cheadle.

Police were called to the property at around 3.50am and found a man with injuries to his face, arm and abdomen.

Officers described his condition as critical in a statement released yesterday, however have now said he is stable.

Three men, aged 26, 23 and 19, were arrested on suspicion of Section 18 Assault.

They have since been released pending further enquiries.

A police cordon was put in place outside the property on Wednesday.

Greater Manchester Police continue to investigate and are appealing for anyone with further information to come forward.
