Three men and two teenagers from Stockport arrested after Land Rover 'drives at police car' and officer injured

Three men and two teenagers - all from Stockport - have been arrested after police said a Land Rover 'allegedly drove at a police car', leaving an officer injured.

Police dogs were inside the liveried force vehicle at the time, but none were hurt.

Those arrested haven't been named but the men are aged 29, 30 and 39.

They were held together with two 16-year-old boys.

Police said all five were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to burgle homes in the High Peak area of Derbyshire following the collision, which caused 'significant damage' to the police car.

The officer, a constable who was driving the liveried police car at the time, was injured, Derbyshire Constabulary confirmed.

The five arrested remain in police custody for questioning, the force said.

Police said the officer believed the driver of the Land Rover was 'acting suspiciously' and followed it to a farm in the Rowarth area of High Peak.

The collision occurred a short time later - at around 3.20am on Monday.

Glossop Police safer neighbourhood policing team revealed details of the incident on Facebook.
