Three men admit attacking journalist Owen Jones outside London pub

Three men have admitted involvement in an attack on left-wing activist and Guardian columnist Owen Jones.

James Healy, 40, Charlie Ambrose, 30, and Liam Tracey, 34, appeared at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Wednesday where they all admitted a charge of affray.

However, they denied the incident was motivated by homophobia.

Healy admitted a further charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Mr Jones, who is gay and campaigns for LBGT rights, had been drinking in the Lexington pub on the Pentonville Road in Islington, north London, for his birthday night out on August 17 when he was targeted.
