Three Melbourne teenagers charged after fatal crash in allegedly stolen car

Three teenagers have been charged after a girl died in a single-car crash in Melbourne's south-west overnight.

The 15-year-old girl from Werribee was a passenger in an allegedly stolen car travelling along Old Geelong road, in Hoppers Crossing, about 6:30pm on Saturday.

The Subaru Liberty rolled after veering off the road.

The girl was taken to hospital, where she later died.

A Victoria Police spokesperson said one of the occupants of the car fled the scene but was arrested a short time later.

Two other people who were in the car were also arrested.

A 16-year-old boy from Werribee was charged with culpable driving causing death.

A 15-year old girl from Tarneit was charged with theft of a motor vehicle and theft.

They were both remanded in custody and will appear before a children's court at a later date.

A 17-year-old boy from Point Cook was bailed after being charged with theft of a motor vehicle. 

Police are asking anyone with dashcam footage or any other information to contact Crime Stoppers.
