Three MAFS 2026 Brides Reportedly Lost Their Jobs After The Show — Here’s What They’re Doing Now

MAFS' Gia, Bec and Brook

From OnlyFans and nightclub appearances to sponsorship deals and podcasts, Married At First Sight (MAFS) is known for having the power to boost participants’ celebrity status — and more importantly, their bank accounts. But there can also be serious real-life consequences for the brides and grooms, depending on how they carry themselves on the reality show.

Former participant Olivia Frazer was reportedly fired from her role as a school teacher in 2022 after her controversial portrayal, while 2023 bride Alyssa “I have a child” Barmonde blamed her redundancy from an executive assistant role she’d held for seven years — which occurred shortly after the finale aired — on the show. Last year’s groom Tim Gromie also reportedly lost his job as a PE teacher following his short-lived marriage to Katie Johnstone, and there were claims his co-star Ryan Donnelly struggled to find full-time work after the experiment.

It appears the unfortunate trend has continued this season, with reports that Bec Zacharia, Gia Fleur and Brook Crompton have all lost their jobs following their controversial on-screen portrayals. So, what are they all doing now?

Bec reveals her post-show plans

Bec confirmed to PEDESTRIAN.TV that she was “dismissed” from her sales role at a manufacturing company in Adelaide last month because of how she conducted herself on MAFS.

“After my abhorrent behaviour at Dinner Party three was aired, my employer, the very next day, suggested I don’t come back after MAFS had finished airing. I declined,” she said. “A week later, I was informed I didn’t have an option to stay and was dismissed from my workplace!”

The 35-year-old admitted she’s yet to secure another job but isn’t too concerned as she’s prioritising her happiness.

“Right now I’m just focusing on doing the things that make me happy and fuel my soul: cooking, training, fashion, my dog and my family and friends,” she detailed. “If something comes of that, great; otherwise, I am just focusing on growth and happiness!”

Gia’s surprising career pivot

Meanwhile, Gia told New Idea that she is no longer employed as a disability support worker and instead works full-time as a property investor.

“People don’t know this about me, but I’ve flipped six houses,” she told the publication. “I’m a property investor, and I’m currently looking for another house to flip.”

She added that she would love to appear on The Block one day with her new partner, Love Triangle’s Alan Wallace — and personally, I’d absolutely enjoy seeing Scott Cam and Gia in the same room together.

“We’d love to do that one day,” she said. “[Alan] is a sparky, and he’s flipped houses too, so that’s something we’re looking to get into together.”

If that doesn’t work out, she’s also keen to enter the I’m A Celebrity jungle — following in the footsteps of Cyrell Paule, Domenica Calarco and Davina Rankin

“I think surviving in the jungle would be far easier than coping with a MAFS dinner party,” she joked.

Brook speaks out about career change

MAFS fans have speculated that Brook — who made her mark this season despite only appearing in a few episodes — had likely been dropped as the face of Brisbane fashion boutique Calexico after she was removed from their website and untagged on social media.

“Any post that mentioned working with Calexico has been edited in the [description] by removing the captions or deleted,” one fan posted on Reddit. “On Calexico’s website, they have awkwardly cropped her face out of a lot of listings. If she is looking at the camera or it is a close-up, the photo was either removed or cropped.”

However, Brook told P.TV that she still has a “really close relationship” with the boutique and actually chose to remove them from her socials to protect them.

“Online trolls were sending them horrible messages, and it broke my heart that this was happening to them, so I asked Channel 9 to remove all tags of brands, family, friends, etc to stop the online trolls sending death threats to them,” she explained.

The 27-year-old — who is currently expecting her first child with her ex-boyfriend-turned-fiancé Harry — also said she was “confused” when she saw reports she had lost her job after appearing on MAFS, and explained that it’s not entirely true.

“I actually quit my 9-5 before filming in June last year, and then always just did freelance modelling. I haven’t been signed with an agency since I was 20,” she said.

“I stopped modelling probably around November last year when I found out I was pregnant (obviously body changing etc, starting to have a little bump in clothes) and I’m currently just focusing on growing the little bean at the moment and helping my fiancé out with his business.”

Of course, this year’s season of MAFS hasn’t finished yet, so there might end up being a few more names added to this list, depending on how the final episodes play out. Eek.

P.TV has contacted Gia for comment.
