Three lorries full of whiskey stolen in warehouse raid, then dumped in Rochdale

Three lorries full of whiskey were stolen from a Warrington warehouse then dumped in Rochdale.

The break-in was said to have happened at XPO Logistics storage depot in Birchwood betwen 9.30pm and 11.15pm on Tuesday, October 20.

Cheshire Police said three HGVs and their trailers containing large quantities of alcohol were reported stolen.

The lorries were said to have been later found abandoned at an industrial estate in Rochdale in Greater Manchester, Cheshire Live reports.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Constabulary said: “At 6.30am on Wednesday, October 21, police received a report of a burglary at storage unit on Leacroft Road in Birchwood.

“The burglary involved the theft of three HGVs and trailers with a large quantity of alcohol reported to be inside.

“It is believed to have occurred between 9.30pm and 11.15pm on Tuesday, October 20.

“All three HGVs and one trailer were located a few hours later at an industrial estate in Middleton.”
