Liverpool’s squad boasts three of the most valuable players in world football, according to a new study.
The CIES Football Observatory states that Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino are all inside the top ten of the world’s most valuable player - with only Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe ahead of Salah, who is valued at €219.6m.
Liverpool also have more players in the top 10 than anyone else, with Manchester City the only other club to have more than one - with Raheem Sterling slotting in third behind Salah and Leroy Sane completing the list in 10th spot.
Mane, sixth overall and valued at €157.8m, ranks behind Barcelona supreme Lionel Messi and Borussia Dortmund starlet Jadon Sancho, while Firmino is eighth and seen as worth €144.2m, behind Tottenham striker Harry Kane and ahead of Atletico Madrid’s World Cup winner Antoine Griezmann.
Trent Alexander-Arnold sits just outside the top 10 in 13th spot, ahead of ex-Liverpool man Philippe Coutinho, and also finds himself as the most valuable defender in the world at a price of €130.2m - while Alisson, at €107m, is the most valuable goalkeeper.
Surprisingly, Virgil van Dijk is ranked at a lowly 22nd despite his remarkable form for Liverpool but does find himself as the second most valuable defender in world football at €112.1m, while the Reds complete the top three with Andrew Robertson valued at €88.3m.
The other Liverpool players included in the top 100 are Fabinho (€86.2m), Georginio Wijnaldum, (€75.8m), Naby Keita (€68.9m) and Joe Gomez (€67.8m).
