Three Linen Warehouse shops on Merseyside have closed, with employees' jobs lost, after the firm went into administration.
The company selling items including bedding and curtains had outlets in Birkenhead, Huyton and Liverpool's Allerton Road, but has ceased trading with immediate effect.
The shops all come under the Yorkshire Linen Company, and on Friday, all 134 staff employed at its 19 stores across the north were made redundant as part of the administration, Business Live reports .
A pop-up note appeared on the firm's website saying: "The Company has ceased to trade with immediate effect.
“Creditors with claims against the Company should email BRNotice@bdo.co.uk in the first instance.
“The Joint Administrators will be writing to all creditors in the next few days with formal notification of their appointment.”
BDO LLP is the administrator that has been called in, saying the decision had been made due to "extremely unpredictable market conditions".
Earlier this year, eight stores shut their doors as part of a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) agreed in a bid to save the business.
But those efforts look to have been in vain, as all 19 remaining stories have ceased trading with immediate effect.
Graham Newton, a partner at BDO, said: “Extremely unpredictable market conditions, coupled with the well documented challenges facing high street retailers have had a significant negative impact on trading in recent months.
Is there still a place for shopping centres in Liverpool?
“Despite the considerable efforts of management and their team, it has not been possible to secure a sustainable future for the business.
“As Joint Administrators, we will be taking all necessary steps to maximise value of the assets for the benefit of all creditors.
“We will also ensure that employees impacted by the administration receive the support they need.”
The firm has been contacted for further comment by the ECHO about the Merseyside stores.
