Three Leeds United players included in PFA Championship Team of the Year

Three Leeds United players have been chosen by their peers as part of the Championship’s best XI for 2018/19, including Pablo Hernandez.

Hernandez was a notable omission from the EFL’s Championship Team of the Season, which was voted for by the 24 managers in the division.

However, his fellow professionals have deemed the Spaniard one of the three best midfielders in the division for the campaign.

Liam Cooper, who was included in the managers’ XI, is named in defence alongside Pontus Jansson.

There are four differences in total between the two XIs. Jansson received greater backing than Wigan Athletic’s Reece James among his fellow pros.

Meanwhile, Hernandez and Jack Grealish came in ahead of Kalvin Phillips and Jarrod Bowen.

In attack, Che Adams was overlooked for Aston Villa’s Tammy Abraham by the PFA.

PFA Championship Team of the Year: Darren Randolph (Middlesbrough); Max Aarons (Norwich City), Cooper, Jansson, Jamal Lewis (Norwich; Hernandez, Oliver Norwood (Sheffield United), Grealish (Aston Villa); Teemu Pukki (Norwich), Billy Sharp (Sheffield United), Abraham.
