Indian Tiffin Room was nominated in the category of the best curry in the North of England. The restaurant specializes in authentic Indian street food that they say "is inspired by the bustling streets of India". Indian Fusion, on Dewsbury Road, in Leeds sells a wide selection of Indian food and was nominated for Takeaway of the Year which is sponsored by Just Eat.

Café Le Raj at The Cross was also nominated in the same category for best takeaway of the year. All the restaurants will now be voted for by the public, before a lucky few are honoured at an awards ceremony at London’s Grosvenor House on November 20, with the event sponsored by Just Eat.

Yawar Khan, Chairman of the Asian Catering Federation (ACF) is urging the public to cast votes and celebrate what their local areas have to offer. He said: “Every week I hear from another owner closing their restaurant because they cannot see an end in sight to the economic situation – but an award win can bring a massive upsurge in trade.

“For customers wanting to help their favourite restaurants survive, their votes can be crucial.”
