Three killed in Germany attack before police find suspect dead on park bench after hunt

A 59-year old man killed three other people before he was found dead himself on a park bench just hours later, according to police.

The horror killings began in the German town of Weilheim after officers were alerted to a man laying seriously injured in the garden of an apartment building.

The 60-year old was found unresponsive when police arrived at the scene at around 5pm on Friday, and despite efforts to save him he later died.

A manhunt ensued and just over two hours later a lifeless male on a park bench was reported by a passer-by in the Holzhofstrasse area of the town.

Emergency services found the 59-year old dead on arrival.

A subsequent visit to his address then resulted in the discovery of two deceased 57-year old female bodies, who were described as having suffered from 'massive injuries'.

Based on initially inquiries, it is suspected the 59-year-old killed the women first, followed by the man, before taking his own life.

All three are believed to be family members or friends known to the suspect.

Police and forensics are at the scene and the Munich II public prosecutor's office have now taken over the investigation.

Elsewhere in Germany a 26-year old man has confessed to to murdering his ex-girlfriend after she broke up with him.

Dennis Holstein allegedly killed 25-year-old Pia Stelzer as she was coming home from a fair on August 27 and then hid her corpse in a bush in western Germany's state of North Rhine-Westphalia.

The geriatric nurse was reported missing before her body was found at roughly 4am on August 30.

During police interrogations, Holstein reportedly admitted to the murder and led the officers to the place where he had disposed of Pia's body.

An autopsy revealed strangulation marks and cuts on the victim's neck.
