Three key players missing - Who trained and who didn’t for Chelsea ahead of Bayern Munich clash

After the impressive win over Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, Chelsea are straight back into action in the Champions League.

Bayern Munich are the visitors to Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night for the last 16 first leg tie.

The Bundesliga side cruised through the group stages, smashing Spurs 7-2, and are currently top of their own domestic table.

Frank Lampard’s side have had an up and down campaign so far, but Saturday’s win means that they have opened the gap once again in the race for the Premier League’s top four.

Chelsea 2-1 Tottenham: Frank Lampard post-match press conference

The focus now, however, is going to be on tomorrow night’s huge game, and Lampard is going to be without a few of his key stars.

As usual in European competitions, the Blues held an open training session, inviting the world’s media to attend.

However, N’Golo Kante, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Christian Pulisic were all missing from the training session at Cobham.

Kante hobbled out of the Manchester United match last Monday with an adductor injury and is expected to be out of action for at least two more weeks.

Hudson-Odoi, meanwhile, suffered a hamstring injury in training during the winter break and has not been fit to return.

Pulisic, however, remains an ongoing concern as the American has not played a minute of action since New Year’s Day with an adductor problem.

All three are to miss tomorrow night’s match and remain doubts for the Bournemouth.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek made his return to the Blues squad on Saturday when he took to the bench, and he was out training with the rest of the squad.

Billy Gilmour was promoted to the first team squad after the Leicester City match, and so remains part of the team in consideration for the game.

Chelsea squad:

Goalkeepers: Caballero, Kepa, Cumming.

Defenders: James, Azpilicueta, Alonso, Emerson, Zouma, Christensen, Rudiger, Tomori.

Midfielders: Kovacic, Jorginho, Mount, Barkley, Gilmour, Loftus-Cheek.

Forwards: Willian, Pedro, Batshuayi, Giroud, Abraham.
