Three, Vodafone and Virgin Media networks down as mobile users unable to make calls and access internet

Three Ireland mobile customers across the country are being lumbered with technically difficulties as the network is currently down.

Customers from Ireland and the UK have taken to social media to voice their frustration with the provider complaining that they are unable to make calls or access mobile internet.

According to outage monitoring site Down Detector hundreds of people have reported problems with the network.

The site shows a spike in the number of reports at around 12pm this afternoon.

77% have reported problems with the mobile phone service, 15% are having trouble accessing mobile internet while 7% have no signal.

The most reported locations in Ireland are in Dublin, Galway, Mullingar, Cork, Lucan, Naas, Limerick, Drogheda and Nenagh.

Meanwhile Vodafone and Virgin Media customers also reported problems with their network.

A similar spike was seen in complaints across both networks at 12pm shortly after Leo Varadkar made his speech on coronavirus restrictions from Washington.

75% of Vodafone complaints related to mobile phone issues, while 16% had issues with home broadband with 7% reporting issues with mobile internet.
