A suspect was pictured being taken to a police cell following reports of people being 'jumped' by criminals wearing balaclavas in Longsight.
Greater Manchester Police said that they had received a number of reports of people being approached by opportunists wearing the masks in an attempt to steal their belongings.
Three perpetrators are now in custody overnight to be questioned about the offences, with police sharing a picture of one man being walked to a cell on Thursday evening (March 9).

In a post, GMP Longsight wrote: "It's a long walk down to the cells when you think it's acceptable to jump people in balaclavas to steal their belongings.
"After several reports, three perpetrators are in custody tonight following diligent work by Longsight Neighbourhood and plain clothes teams. Not on our patch..."
