Three improvements Manchester United fans could see under Ralf Rangnick vs Young Boys

Ralf Rangnick will take charge of his second game as Manchester United manager on Wednesday as his side face BSC Young Boys in the Champions League.

Before the game against Crystal Palace last weekend, we looked at four instant improvements we could see under Rangnick as he prepared to make his debut in the Old Trafford dugout.

Here at United On My Mind , we're not afraid to hold our hands up and admit when we get things wrong, and United didn't score from a corner as we predicted. That being said, we did see evidence that Rangnick had worked on a number of different set-piece routines during his short time at the club.

The frontline also looked much sharper when pressing as part of Rangnick's 4-2-2-2 formation and despite the fact we didn't see any goals that would fall under the German's eight-second remit, we did see a number of fast-paced movements which ended in chances being created.

With the game against Young Boys just around the corner, let's look at three more improvements we could see from United under Rangnick.

One message, one team

"Everybody has the chance to perform and present themselves," Rangnick said recently. "I am happy to give game time to quite a few of them tomorrow, perfect opportunity to get to know the players."

One criticism regularly levelled at previous boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was his unwillingness to rotate the squad, though it seems Rangnick is keen to afford everyone a chance.

If United are to be successful this season, every player will need to be on board with the German's tactics, so Wednesday night should give us a good indication as to whether the players are tapping into Rangnick's philosophy.

Dean Henderson the sweeper keeper?

Rangnick confirmed in his press conference that Dean Henderson will be starting against Young Boys.

David de Gea has been in great form this season, however, the Spaniard has never really been good at being a proactive goalkeeper. He doesn't often leave his box or come out to claim crosses, so Henderson now has a great opportunity to stake his claim to be United's number one.

A convincing win

United played well against Palace but only secured a narrow 1-0 win despite creating a lot of good chances.

This is an area of their game that United need to improve upon, and the clash with Young Boys offers the perfect opportunity for some of United's forward players to gain some confidence in front of goal. I can already feel myself regretting saying that.
