Bernard Brogan, Eoghan O’Gara, and Rory O’Carroll will play no part in the All-Ireland football final against Kerry after being left out of Dublin’s squad.
The trio all played in the Dubs’ six point win over Tyrone in the last game of the Super 8s four week ago, but that will be their last action for the Blues this season.
It is second year in succession that Brogan, 35, has been left out of the final matchday squad and it could spell the end of his Dublin career.
But there is a place on the bench for Diarmuid Connolly, who returned to the panel after a proposed move to play in Boston for the summer fell through in June.
There is also a surprise call up for Cuala’s Peadar O Cofaigh Byrne who replaces Sean Bugler and veteran Darren Daly comes in for Eric Lowndes.
It remains to be seen if both sides will line out as stated with Kerry’s Tommy Walsh perhaps pushing for a starting spot after an impressive second half performance from the bench in their semi-final win over Tyrone.
