Three people have been injured after a car crashed into a bus near Stevenson Square in the Northern Quarter.
The collision happened on Lever Street at the junction of Dale Street shortly before 3.10pm today (Monday).
Three people, including a woman trapped inside the car, were hurt in the crash.
Firefighters removed the roof of the car to rescue the woman.
A passenger on the bus and another person suffering with shock are being treated by paramedics at the scene.
Lever Street is closed at the junction of Stevenson Square.
Traffic is being diverted around the crash scene.
Pictures show a large cordon in place around the two vehicles.
A number of Stagecoach bus services are being diverted around Stevenson Square.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called at 3.10pm to the junction of Lever Street and Dale Street to a road traffic collision involving a bus and a car.
"Three people have been injured. One woman was trapped inside the car.
"One female on the bus who was conscious and breathing was treated at the scene.
"A third person was treated for shock.
"We are still at the scene."
